New Jersey Divorce Attorney Explains How Long it Takes to Get Divorced

New Jersey Divorce AttorneyAs a New Jersey Divorce Attorney I am often asked how long it takes to get divorced.  In New Jersey, divorces are a creature of the particular factual situation involving the parties. As an experienced New Jersey Divorce Attorney I’ve had divorce cases where people have been divorced in about 30 days; I’ve had cases where people don’t get divorced for a year and a half, sometimes longer. Every divorce is different, and every factual situation would determine how quickly a divorce can happen. If there are a lot of assets and the parties can’t come to an agreement, that divorce is going to take much longer. If there are no assets, or if there are plenty of assets but the parties are in complete agreement, that divorce is going to be much quicker and far less expensive.
