The time period for an uncontested divorce – one in which the parties readily agree on the terms of the divorce – can be as short as a month. Generally, those will be instances where there are no issues with children, either because there are no children or the parties have agreed on all issues concerning the amount of child support, custody of the children, and the non-custodial parent’s parenting time. When there are no unresolved issues between the parties, divorces can generally take a month to six weeks at the longest.
